I recently was in for the 10K service. I also noticed the 8 quarts used. I thought it was odd, but didn't question it and figured it was normal for that size.

My husband changes my oil because he used that Mobile 1 that's $5 a qt (good golly, add that to 3 vehicles) and I believe he uses 7 qts, but I'll check and let ya'll know.

Oh ya....by the way...just curious as to what warranty work you had to have done when you went in and got the oil change??

So, your dealer allows you to bring your own oil in for the change? If so, that sounds a bit like taking your own food to a restaurant! There may have been more to your post but, did not see that.
