Thanks
Even if you are not an aftermarket person like me, just give me 18" rims at least, like the RX has! Even the optional rim on the Lexus site looks good too and it's still 17". Rims make the car and the current ones are just OK.

The BMW X5 4.4 with all the options against a GX will be much more expensive than a GX, that is why the GX is a better value. However the BMW X5 4.4 is the more fun factor type of car to drive in. Plus you have a 300+HP BMW vs a 270HP, now lower Lexus V8.

My brother used to have a BMW X5 4.4 and that was like a tank and it had monster acceleration which made it so fun to drive in. My GX470 has more than enough power, but it's not as fun to drive as the BMW.

You can't compare the GX to the BMW or MB; the GX is more reliable and you don't need to worry about "Is a light gonna come on my cluster? How much am I gonna have to shelve out to MB/BMW again for service????"

GX for the money, Best bang for the Buck
Granted the Lexus is a more reliable vehicle than the BMW, however even if you are in the shop with your BMW to fix things, at least for the first 4 years / 50K miles there is no cost and everything is covered (Full Maintenance). It then becomes just wasted time.

After 4 years & 50K miles in my GX 470, I can't even imagine how much money I will have spent just on routine maintenance (probably a little over $1,000 at $100+ per service, every 5K miles).

Fluff, do you own or lease? And if lease how much did you get your GX per month?

I bought my GX in NY for $48,496.
I've personally purchased 2 cars from this dealer and my father also has purchased 2.
I also brought in my friend when he got his RX330 so the Sales manager was pretty
aggressive in his pricing.

If you are planning on purchasing, I would say shop around and get the lowest price you can
find and then go to the dealer you want to purchase from and tell him thats the price you'll pay
and try to get a little more discount or options. (I got 5 free oil changes and 2 engine coolant flushes).

My payments are $1207 for 36 months ($10k down).

Well in my personal experience, I've found that german cars are a pain in the neck. Not saying everyone should stop buying german, but I can't tell you the countless times I had to bring my Jetta or my dad's old S500 into the shop for electrical malfuntions. "Check Engine Light, O2 Sensors, the Odd electrical shortage, the engine just dying for no apparent reason, the alarm randomly going off in my garage at night, etc."

I'm in manufacturing and I'll tell ya, when you start moving your plants to Mexico for assembly, your quality will go down 1000-fold. And with MB, having an assembly plant in Alabama to put together an ML-class is just wrong.

When I was looking for a car before my Q, I was looking at the X5's but my friends over at the Consumer Union told me that I would regret it, much like my Jetta.

1207 a month with 10K down???? That sounds like you are getting ripped off.

That payment is for purchase not lease. But the interest maybe a little high. According to the calculation from www.kbb.com it is about 8% but don't quote me on it. I only have about 100 miles on my GX470 and I couldn't be any happier. All cars have issues and problems and as long it is not safety related I can overlook it. Clunking? I can live with it when it does show up on my GX and it is a whole lot saver than the constant coolant leakage with my last SUV, 2001 Mercedes ML320. Coming from years of owning Mercedes, the GX is quite refreshing and pampering ride.

Ripped off?
How do you figure?
$53k for 3 years including interest.
Remember, my GX is fully loaded
