Default New 05 or used Range Rover?

The Range Rover is an 03 with 33k miles. I can get it for 45k.

What do you think?

Unless you want an expensive relationship with a mechanic, I think that you should get the GX and forget about the Range Rover. For about $2K more than you would pay for a used (think, someone else's problems) RR that has 33K miles you can purchase a new GX470 - what's there to contemplate? I am not going to "put down" the RR but, dollar-for-dollar, I think the GX is the better vehicle and it will never leave you "stranded".

Please take a few minutes and read through the comments of the GX owners on this forum. You will discover that most of the owners are extremely happy with the GX; including those owners who voice occasional complaints. I think the thing you will find most striking about the GX owners on this forum is their loyalty to the vehicle. Also, if you haven't already done so, take a test drive.

A one year old RR with HIGH miles? Can't imagine ANY way that could be a good deal. Since the ownership changed, their product simply isn't the same IMHO. GX wins hands down.

The Range Rover definitely has that cool, macho factor going for it, but the reliability issues (especially for a used one) make this choice a no brainer to go with a brand spanking new GX470.

Having owned a few RR's in my time. I am confident that you will love the truck. That truck is a work of art and design. It is a more refined ride and elegance over the GX. It is a presentation that is truly world class. There may be people in this forum that don't agree with me, but they are also the type that would not understand where from I speak. I switched to the GX because of what happens at around 65K miles on the RR's. You start to have EVERYTHING go wrong. It is not catastrophic, but more of a incessant trickle. The worst part is, you don't know when and where it will occur. Items like a relay which can convert the RR from a vehicle to an inanimate object in a heartbeat. And for a truck that you may want to discover some outback area, that point can REALLY suck. If that is not bad enough, it is also about the point that your warrantly will probably expire too.
As I said, the truck is one very elegant vehicle to drive and enjoy. I simply decided that I would like to spend money on other things in my life, other than vehicle service. Now, the GX simply works.
