Default GX470 is quite popular in Boston, MA

I am here in Boston for the week to take a C.E. course with the family and very surprised to see GX everywhere. Normally I see more RX330s and rarely see the GX around Buffalo NY. But here in Boston, GX is just as popular as the RX. I always knew Bostonian has good taste

I'll take that as a compliment (the good taste part)!

I'm still glad that there are plenty more RXs than GXs out here, though I agree I've been seeing more GXs these days. Since the GX has only been out a few years, I love it when some people ask me what it is.

Edit: Nice color selection on your GX...

Thanks. I lived in Boston for 11 years until 2000 and I considered myself a Bostonian too. We missed Boston tremendously, except for the traffic. So much for the Big Dig; it is a beautiful design but I don't think it is doing much for the traffic congestion. But we will be back again next year

P.S. GX470 is the perfect highway cruiser. It made the long drive more pleasurable. BTW the gas is $0.15/gallon cheaper in MA than in NY. You guys are lucky!!!

Funny you mention that, John. I have actually noticed gas prices dropping quite a bit over the last few weeks. No complaints here! Anything below $2.60 looks like a bargain these days.

Just out of curiosity, are you pumping 87 or premium on your GX? I switched to 87 about a month ago (did only premium for the first 17 months), and the truck feels just as powerful.

Re. The Big Dig... I don't use it, but I'm part of the lucky group of people still paying for it (live in Metro West, so I get to pay the tolls on the Mass Turnpike, $$ which goes to the Big Dig). A lot of the congestion is because of repairs in progress, in many cases due to construction defects. Hopefully it will end soon!

I use the mid-grade/89 octane gas but considering doing the regular grade. I only have 1500 miles so far; bought the car in September but most of the miles are from Boston, Freeport, Kittery and Wrentham. My wife has been busy shopping since arriving in Boston

They have great taste except in baseball teams
J/K, my sis attended college at Becker, in Worschester, she would be in Boston all the time and raved about the city.

Great post.

I been living in Boston for almost 30 years now, and you guys are right, the GX is everywhere in Boston. During the first 2 years of the GX's production, the GX was still rare, but now, it has just mutliply. I think it has something to do with the pricing, dealers in this area are now willing to sell the GX at invoice price or close to it. That puts the GX in direct completition with SUV such as the MDX or the XC90, and we all know that the GX is a much better SUV than those two.
