Lightbulb Current is Gen IV Nav ... how about Gen III on 2004???

I know you guys have been talking about the Nav in the 2005 and 2006 GX, but does the Gen III Nav in the 2004 GX also have that same plug for the XM module? Also, if it is possible, If anyone knows of the "Fit-Kit" number that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and it is very cool that at least the feature is on the newer Nav's. Too bad it is not an advertised option.

ADvocate,
Read What I wrote In the first post about which years this applies to. Sorry no 04s

I have installed a number of these units and have had no problems with the Nav to date.
I can't tell you about the VAIS with the Terk tuner, but the Toyota kit, following the factory instructions works just fine.

Thanks parts223 for all your input. Following your suggestion I just ordered the LX kit for my install next week.

I got SIRIUS installed on my truck now. I love it. Never going back to FM.

I ordered the ES330 kit.... there is one universal receiver and u need to use ES330. Not sure about the LX kit.. but should be the same. ALL PLUG AND PLAY. Press the AM button to switch...

Let us know how the installation of the LX kit goes on the GX. If you do it yourself, photos would be great. I plan to install the Sirius kit in my 06 GX sometime soon.

Thanks, Parts223. I appreciate the update. I did not read your post as meaning the '04 was excluded, but that it was not part of that "fit-kit". I am sure all who read this forum appreciate anyone with "inside" knowledge of what parts work on the various trucks. Keep it coming ....

Finally...I ordered the LX kit....dealer said Lexus told them it had been discontinued...they argued for a couple of days...then send it to dealer...it is now with ups enroute to me...Will do an install next week.........

Don't know if it really has been discontinued and Lexux has something else coming out or maybe they have decided that we don't need XM in our vehicle.

Just had the ES330 XM kit installed. Took about an hour at the dealership and it works like a charm Only gripe is that the Artist and Title names are cut off. Kinda strange for such a large screen. Now I have a Vaistech unit for a paperweight but it was worth the $$$.

Default Mine works great too

With some convincing, my Massachusetts dealer installed the Sirius tuner. It works great, sounds great, and looks great! The install was a little steep (4 hours labor) but what the hell, I wanted it pretty bad, I like to listen to stern most mornings.

BTW I have an 06 model

Default Installed XM kit for LX in 05 GX

Seven minutes to pull the dash apart and have the nav/radio hanging free........
Under 2 1/2 hours from start to clean up.......................
Everything is plug and play as advertised..................

No mishaps except the plastic part that goes across the carpet in the back door has fragile prongs and I broke two of them...........no extra parts left over...........
3 sets of six memory channels..........
Works great...........

Can someone post step-by-step on how to pull the dash apart. I just ordered the Sirius Sporter Replay for my other cars and the GX470. If I like the Sirius radio then I will invest in the Lexus kit soon. Thanks.

John
