is there any way to have the dvd play through the speakers in the back and have the radio or cd player play through the front speakers for the passenger and driver

Um, you should use the headphones for the rear and speakers for the front.
It would be senseless, and very annoying, to use the front and back for different sources, the passenger and driver would hear both sources.
