flat tire yesterday on my 05 GX. called lexus approx 1:20 pm; for a tire change; no one had arrived by 3 p.m.; called back; said they were having network problems; finally a hip-hop guy showed up about 3:15; said he didn't have a jack. By this time, both Lexus and AAA were calling me to see if anybody had showed up; Turns out the towing service Lexus uses here were having problems with drivers showing up for work. I persuaded AAA to send somebody else using my AAA number; about 3 hours after my original call to Lexus an extremely competent and fast guy showed up and changed the tire. I hope this is an anomaly, this over 3 hour wait

Same experience here in CA. Flat tire discovered at 11 PM, call Lexus. They told me about an hour. No one shows up, so I called them back. They told me the guy is en route, and should be there shortly. Another half hour, called back, and now they said he's 1.4 mile away from me (don't know how they can be so precised, unless he has a GPS in his tow truck). Another half hour, still no show. Finally 3 hours later, someone showed up and mumbling that it's a busy Sat night. Very unacceptable service, as far as I'm concerned.

Most of these roadside service are about the same, sometimes it fast, sometimes it takes hours. When I had the Acura roadside service, it was the same way. Most of these roadside service use the same people, and its the same people AAA use as well.

The Mercedes Teleaid is no better. One time I waited at least 2 hours for the tech to show up and another time when my second row seat in the 2001 ML320 won't fold when I tried to load furniture at the store, the tech. told me he can't come and told me to bring the SUV to the dealer next business day On top of that they charged me by the minutes for being put on hold on the phone. How is that for $240/year service. After that incident I cancelled my Teleaid for all my Mercedes.

I'm 72; have changed a lot of tires, but not lately, GX spare is under the car, I have a serious back problem, (having spent time in hospital flat on my back). Besides, I paid for the service;
If I was out of phone range, I could probably do it, with time a big factor.

Jacking up a 3 ton truck with that factory jack is no small task, I too would assume let someone else do it if the service is for free.
