installed AIC-100x and DVD overide
I took the plunge and installed the AIC-100x for XM radio and i use the aux for my ipod. I installed a cigarette lighter adapter behind my dash and plugged my ipod charger into this. My ipod charger has a headphone jack input so I went from the vais to this all behind my dash. I cut a little whole in my ash tray and ran my ipod cable through this. Everything works great and the install was pretty easy. This coming from a guy that has never installed a car stereo in his life. Vais told me they are coming out with a unit that does XM and IPOD in one. They said when it comes out I can send my in for a free swap.
I did the DVD overide a few weeks back and that was easier than the AIC-100x.

iPod and XM Radio unit will be ready in the beginning of December.
Unfortunately nobody will be eligible for a free upgrade, and we are not even sure that we will take a trade-ins

Bummer. I probably would not have gone through the trouble any way. The cig power adapter with the input works for me. The vais only really does playlists and I am not that interested in that. I will follow up and find out why they told me this.
