Disable Tire Pressure Sensors?
#76
Just a note to help clarify things for others:
1. My 07 has the blue TPM box
2. Disconnect harness from blue box then cut the BLUE wire.
3. Strip some insulation away from the GREEN/RED wire and tap it to the BLUE wire going to the dash. (Note: make sure you don't tap the green/black wire right next to it)
4. Reconnect wire harness to Blue TPM box
5. Done!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I did the mod several months ago and no issues so far. I was just curious

So finally had some time yesterday to attempt this mod for the 07+ GX. Worked just as described. Thank you, burtoncr!

BUT....The three VSC related lights are all on now. Anybody else experience this?
Yes, I did connect Blue to Green/Red. Let me ask this - what # position in the plug is your green/red in?

I would like to thank everyone that contributed to this thread. I used my '06 gx470 to tow my pop up camper from AZ to northern ID and back and started by inflating my rear tires to max. Soon, the tpms came on, blinking, and stayed on for 2500 miles. I reset all tire pressures to specs of 32# once home and went to Discount Tires who promptly said all sensors were dead. As I am 75 and have driven on tires prepped by an air gauge for over 60 years, figured I did not need the tpms. Followed instructions completely and completed the job in a couple of hours which I consider good considering my age, arthritis, Vietnam war injuries, etc. the grounding of the wire was complete. Thanks for articles like this!

I did it thanks for these instructions but I grounded it to a nut on the lower A piler about 5 inches above the floor. Had to peel away some lower paneling to find it.

Hey everyone. I decided to solder the posts in the TPMS box itself to avoid cutting/splicing wires. I had some help from Mud members and used burtoncr's advice to find the Blue and Red/Green wires, then soldered their corresponding posts. Worked like a charm. I'll note that my 2008 had a different TPMS module than what I have seen folks post for the 2007 and 2003-2006, but the Blue and Red/Green wires are still the correct wires.
Here's the end result. the board slides right out after you pop the plastic top on the TPMS box. Super easy. It took me 15-20 minutes total and I have never done anything like this in the past, so it's easy for a complete noob.
