05 Nav DVD vs. 04 NAV DVD

05 Nav DVD vs. 04 NAV DVD
Hi guys had a question.
A friend of mine just bought a '05 GX with Nav. I took his NAV DVD and put it in my '04 GX NAV unit and the screen said invalid DVD information cannot read.
I figured that the new DVD was just an updated version why would it not work with my NAV unit?
Anyone know where we can buy the new NAV DVD that would work with the 04 NAVIs.

Tony,
It's not just DATA, the software/OS on the 04' NAV needs to be upgraded also... Not too sure how this is done, but my dealer quoted another customer around $350.00. I overheard the convo while standing near the service counter...

So according to that link, that DVD upgrade is for GEN 2,3,4 and our 04 GX has the GEN 3 correct? So just order that disc and we will be okay for 04 GXs?
Thats weird that the new DVD will work with 2-4 Gen Navs but the old DVD will not work backwards.
