I am new to the forum today but have been reading for the last couple of weeks. We have an 06 GX 470 w/ RSE and have attempted to do the override on the NAV and DVD player so that it appears on the front NAv screen. I followed the instructions (ie press Menu then Volume then the L upper corner and bottom L corner X3, then hold down override until highlighted,) but have had no success. Is it different for the 06 GX470?
Any ideas/help would be appreciated!

 

that is only for inputing destination while driving,for watching dvd you have to look for other threed

Welcome to the forum!

In order to VIEW the picture in the front NAVI screen you have to have the GX stopped and the parking brake engaged. If the picture doesn't appear, please hit the DISC button on the front console and you should see it.

Um, the workarounds that you've been reading about are hardware solutions to allow you to WATCH the DVD without having the parking brake engaged AND while moving.

The MENU up/down/up/down (corner) override only ALLOW you and the front passenge to USE/INPUT the NAVIGATION system while the car is moving it will NOT allow you to WATCH the DVD while the GX is in motion or without the parking brake engaged.

Thanks for your help, I guess I misunderstood the other threads. Do you know if the wiring is the same on the 06 GX470 as others have described to be able to watch the DVD up front on the NAV screen? (ie grounding the park brake wire etc...)
