Happens to quite a few of us... I personally decided to turn OFF this feature, as it really REALLY annoyed the #$?$#!! out of me... Excuse the french but you get the idea of how mad I am...
Two ways to avoid the heartburn/heartache:
1. Turn it off - set the remote mirror joystick into the center position and the Auto-tilt is disabled. Joystick has three positions, LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT. Left and Right positions is used to adjust the mirrors and to enable AUTO-TILT when in reverse. CENTER turns it OFF
2. Bring it back to dealer to fix - I also did but balked when they wanted to replace the mirror, why? Because, the entire unit would be replace, not just the assembly, my housing has the paint protecor (armor glove) on it and that would be scrapped...
Ranting off...
