I don't think that is an option but, if it is, that would be a nice little Easter Egg to find!

Leot,

The mirror was an OEM and catered to the least common denominator customer base, for users without the NAV... Could they have supplied a new mirror with Temp instead of Compass, yeah but probably at an additional cost...

I would love to see most (if not all) of the information on a LCD panel (or something) at once all the time that currently is in the tiny clock with so many display modes

navi or no navi my wife still needs that compass. it's a life saver for me when i'm trying to explain to her on the phone which way she needs to go.......north, south, east, west........it's better than make a right or left if she doesn't know if she facing north or south....

FYI, show her how to put the NAV in Compass Display mode, just two touches on the Screen.

How do you do that?

Easiest is to read the manual. But I'll try to describe.

On the left of the map screen is a touch icon that is supposed to symbolize the current Map display mode. It is the icon directly above the + Zoom icon button

You touch that and it opens (spreads out) across the screen with up to six choices:
- single map
- dual map display
- compass mode
- turn list
- arrow screen (kind of a 3D road upcoming turn thing)
- freeway info
- intersection info

I routinely leave mine (whether Nav'ng a route or just driving) in Dual Map. I have the left map, in "course up" mode (ie. the car arrow icon is always pointing the direction of travel and the map spins around it as you turn) at 700ft zoom and then on the right map I set it for North up and about 2mi zoom.

This lets me see what's coming up and the actual streets around me (left side) and then a kind of "paper map" view of the big picture (right side).

Also, sometimes I turn the POIs on, just the right side (but I have to decrease the zoom), as it gets too cluttered I feel on the left side with POIs.

I don't use the Compass view, not enough info, but since the 2Lexos was commenting that his wife liked to use Compass directions, thought I'd make sure he knew.

If you haven't explored it this Nav has a lot of functions and is very customizable. For instance, did you know that you can turn off just about all the buttons and info overlaying on the screen, so you can see more of the map, yet show them again with one button push?
