Default steering wheel crooked

brought my car to firestone twice and they can't straight the steering wheel. they said the alignment are in good range and if they straight the steering wheel then it may misalignment and tire will wear uneven. my car was always straight and within couple weeks ago the steering wheel was crooked that's why i got it alignment. do anyone have any ideas why it does that?

Have the dealer do it. I had a Big-O tire shop do an alignment after a lift and it nearly killed me (this was on my 4runner, truck drove straight after the lift, but tires were splayed outwards due to the lift). It took them two attempts until they could even get the vehicle to track straight. Then when going home, as I ran over the first freeway overpass seam at 70mph, the steering jolted violently. I had to keep the wheel steered at a 45 deg angle just to keep it straight. Next day, took it to a Toyota dealer and they fixed it on the first attempt.

Is your alignment off (ie, if you let go of the wheel, vehicle drifts steadily to one side) or is the steering wheel just off (need to keep it 5-10 deg to one side to keep the vehicle straight, but if you let go of the wheel, it continues to track straight)? I had the latter problem on my LX...VGRS calibration was off. Dealer replaced the VGRS ECU under warranty.

Make sure its an alignment issue and not an issue with an actual loose steering wheel...

Did you have to hold it like 20 degrees off center for it to go straight?
