Default Sirius info/update for those who care or are looking into it on an '06 GX:

Per many of the posts here I tried to install Sirius today using a standard ES 330 fit kit, part number ES330 PTS31-33050. The receiver is standard across all models as far as I can see, except on lexus-parts.com the 2005 LX appears to have 2 different receivers!

They are part numbers PTS31-00050 and PTS31-00052. For an '06 LX there is only ONE reciever, the PTS31-00052. The fit kit appears to be the same for both years. Anyone know the difference? This may explain why some here reported problems with LX kits and others had no issues at all. Damned if I can figure it out!

Dash disassembly actually went rather well. Not too bad once you get the hang of it!

Once I got the radio/Nav unit out I said "uh-oh....".. The harness did NOT match- The ES kit had M & F 12 pin connectors and M & F larger 16 pin connectors that should go into an amp--which is nowhere near the dash in the GX, as its under the driver's seat! The LX looks like it SHOULD fit, as it has a 16 pin connector that goes into the amp, but who knows??

So, here is my point/issue for those looking to install Sirius: We need to see exactly which kits will/will not work. Ii am STILL stumped, but have an LX fit kit ordered to see what happens. I'll be testing it BEFORE I disassemble more than the Nav unit!

Can anyone help/shed light on this? Gotta say again-- I am puzzled!

Jim

The kit I got is call "SIR ES330 ML Fit Kit" and the part number is #PTS31-33051. From what I can remember it had 3 plugs on 1 end(the NAV unit) and 1 connector on the other end(the Sirius receiver), and no connector to amp under the driver seat at all. It is very important you get the ML fit kit because it wouldn't work with the regular non-ML kit. I used an aftermarket antenna from Circuit City that I mounted on the rear right roof top just before the rear spoiler. I tuck the antenna wire between the interior panels and under the weather striping.
