Default Clunk Fixed!

Motor City Lexus of Bakersfield was awesome. Made my appt about a week ago and took it in Yesterday. Took 3.5 hrs. They replaced the driveshaft and the control arms. I didn't even mention the TSB. Have 11k on the 07 and everything is the same as it was minus any clunk at all.

What?! 2007 models still need this TSB?!! Shouldn't these parts be on the assembly line already??

Yeah, and also some have reported the clunk coming back even after having the TSIB done. Very few but at least 2 I recall (one in another thread and one in this one). Most have not reported this. Perhaps these few had dealers install something wrong or take a shortcut and not install all the parts... who knows? When I get some more time perhaps I will do the search. My clunk hardly ever happens and when it does it is not a big deal (not that heavy of a clunk). I'm fine w/out doing the TSIB as long as mine stays as minor as it is.

Thats the problem, the cluck always starts out minor and it will get worst over time. I would just fix it and get it over with before your warranty runs out.

We'll see thanks. Under 7k miles now on mine so long way to go. Plenty of time for me to see if the clunk comes back for more who had the TSIB. As of now it happens only like 1 time a week maybe.

gatorGX, funny you should mention your mileage. My clunk started at 7000 or 8000 miles and got real bad after a while.

It was about a 4 week wait, but finally had the service done a couple of days ago. Clunk gone and with it gone, to me it is a huge difference now. I don't know why I waited months to request it be done. It is like night and day.

Have you reported the clunk to your dealer? Hopefully on a 2004 it should be fixed under the warrentee.

Took mine in yesterday, parts arriving TODAY! I purposely waited to do this fix as I have an 03 with 50k miles so I figured I get it fix as late as possible so my NEW parts stay new longer

I got an appointment with the dealer yesterday. While bring the car to the dealer, I tried to test again and again, but the clunk and thump gone. Therefore I cancelled the appointment. I don't know why it did not have that noise. I hate to bring the car to the dealer and show them the invisible problem. The GX has 36K miles.

What should I do?

Thanks
