It's been 20K miles since mine was fixed and no clunk! Excellent job done by my dealer!

I have 22" Rims on my '05 GX and am thinking of getting the Clunk Fixed. Has anyone out there with Big Rims done this yet?
This forum is awesome, BTW. Thank you everyone for your postings!

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin

Lexus calls their bulletins

TSIB = Technical Service Information Bulletin

i dont have 22s only 20s... i just had my "clunk" fixed 2weeks ago and so far it is better. smoother stops and gos...no more anticipation of it at stops and looking back on the rear view mirror checking if the car behind just hit you... however a bit stiffer ride, have to compensate it on the "shock damper" to soften ride. took a month for parts to come in but it was worth the wait. now if i can have the dealer fix the "drone" symptom/s... my GX would be set.

Please see the other threads on "stiff rides" after the TSB clunk fix. Mine was miserable until I took the vehicle thru a series of rear height adjustments

From N to L then back to N then H then back to N

Let the flashing light stop completely each time. This resets something and your smoothe (sp?) ride will come back. Adjusting the other dial did not work for me.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm looking at buying an 08...is this clunk something that I would have to worry about with the 08? Or would the "fix" already be applied?

Thanks

I took my GX in today for a wash and asked a service rep. He said the TSB does include the 08.

Just to clarify...so you are saying that the 08 will not already have the fix applied? I will have to get the TSB fix applied myself after the sale?

The clunk has been an issue with a TSB since 2003. It almost sounds like Lexus might not fix it in Production until re-designed GX comes out.

I've got mine going in tomorrow to have the alignment redone and the "clunk" fixed. I'll keep y'all posted on the Progress. I'm curious to see how good Newport Lexus here in Newport Beach, CA will be about this whole situation...

Default TSB... Fixed!

I picked up the GX last night from Newport Lexus. What a difference! The clunk is totally gone and I can not tell any side effects. The service adviser said that I was lucky that I reported it later rather than sooner, as they just got in the new suspension components and driveshaft. I think he was referring to the '08, but I am not sure. Regardless, it's very nice to have a new driveline with 0 miles on it, as opposed to the 45,000 my previous one had.
Interesting sidenote: He said that my tires, Toyo 265/40/r22, were too small and that I need to switch to a 50 height. Unfortunately, no one sells 265/50/r22. Can I change the width of the tires and still put them on my existing rims? I ask that because I found other wider tires that are R22 and 50 height. Anyone know the answer to this?
Thank you all so much for your posts on this topic. I am a few thousand miles away from my warranty running out, so I would have had to pay for this down the line!

What do you mean you think he might have been talking about the 08? Not following you...

Cheers
