Got the clunk TSB fix a few days ago. The clunk is gone.

The car was in at 9:30 am for a 20k miles / 1 year service including oil & differential fluid changes and a wheel alignment (very reasonable at Cdn $500). I had asked the dealer to document my clunk problem. At 5:00 pm, he called me to tell me the car was ready, and told me there was a new TSB and they already done the fix.

Mine was the first fix they had done. No issues for about 10 days now.

Well, I figured it was about time to get this TSB that I let everybody know about... especially after letting all you guys and gals guinea pig the TSB the last few weeks.

Just to update, I took mine in and got it back. The clunk is gone... no ill effects. My dealer said they had done over 30 GX470s by now...

Glad they finally came out with a real fix.

I just picked up my GX from the dealer. Invoice states:

Concern 1: There is a clunking noise felt when coming to a stop customer states. Check and advice
Cause: TSB
Correction: Drv Shaft assy (rear) - R&R replaced rear upper & lower CTL arm
Comment: Part number LEX 37110-60A40 - Shaft assy, Propelle
LEX 04006-09160 - Control arm Kit, RR

Concern 2 - Customer states that the car leans to the left when standing behind the vehicle. Check and advice
Cause " Ride Height out of SPEC
Correction: Tech adjusted vehicle ride height

I have NON-KDSS car.... car feels good now.. and no more lean... how weird.. am i the first non-kdss car that has the lean?!?!?

(NO KDSS here too)I forgot about the lean and will bring this up with my service people when I get the Clunk fixed. I may have gotten so used to the lopsidedness!

Picked it up on Saturday and so far the clunk is gone! I noticed one small "bump" at a stop light but if I was not looking for it I would not have noticed it. Felt more like the AC kicking in. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is gone for good!

I have 4600 miles on my '06 and will take it in Friday for the 5K service. Will get this addressed then. I may not notice it as a real problem without this link, but called to schedule the fix.

Had my 04 in for 2 days and finally picked it up today with nothing done..................was told the parts are on backorder for about 2 weeks. Just a bit frustrated as this is the third fix I have had for this same issue. (All of the other fixes were supposed to fix the problem once and for all, so I'm a bit skeptical)

Default backorder as well

My GX was at 10000 mile service, and I called three weeks ago to do a write up as they pick up my car from my house to do service, and today they tell me the parts are backordered! I specifically did the write up three weeks ago to order parts!

Did you ever get an answer on where to find the TSB for the clunking? I'm assuming TSB means "Toyota Service Bulletin" and I found a posting that said the number is "DL001-06" but I can't find the bulletin.

I have the problem in my 2004 Toyota 4 runner and it's terrible. It feels like we get rear ended each time we stop.

Where do I go to find this service bulletin?

Help.

Thanks

Thumbs up G man - thanks for posting TSB details !!

this will help educate my dealership......most of the service reps are clueless and putting this in front of them will be a big plus.....
