Default When is the 18" Rim Option / Accessory Coming?

I grow tired of the stock 17" rims of my GX470 and there are many Soccer Moms driving the GX in my neighboor hood, so all the trucks look the same. I am guilty as charged too, my wife is a soccer mom and the GX is hers!

There are certain angles when you look at the GX that those 17" rims look good, but other angles where they look so so small. Of course there is a wheel gap for this SUV, but some of these angles make that gap look huge!

I saw a new 4Runner Limited with the 18" standard OEM Rims (comes standard with the Limited) and they look sweet!

After all these model years, Lexus can't even change the Rims and gives us a weak 17" rim option. 18's are needed to make the GX more agressive.

Maybe the revamp is coming for the GX, but even the RX has the 18" rim option. I don't need 20's, I just need 18's!

Thanks for listening.

Default 18" Wheels

My understanding is that the total diameter Is the same with the 18s.

HEY lEXGUYN

I believe there r few things that the after market industry still leads in... and wheels are one of them along with aftermarket music n video systems, security systems remote starters and lot of other gadgets. but with each year passing by factory makes lot of these options and features either standard or available options but with a much higher price.

meaning even if a company provides a wheel upgrade option, one is better off spending that money in aftermarket purchase. you can buy 18" wheels for as little as 1500 which would still be better or comparable to the ones which lexus charges around or over 2000 ...unless or offcourse one cares about L on the wheels..

You bring up a good point and there will always be a better deal aftermarket as compared to buying from the factory. However all I want is to upgrade to a nice 18" rim and still Lexus can not give me this option like Toyota is offerring at this time with their 4Runners.

Really.. well lexus canada has the 18"inch wheel upgrade.. don't know if its just coz of my dealership.. i mean at my dealership.. don valley lexus.. they have this program called rim exchange where u can upgrade to 18" for an additional price.. the rims are in offblack alloys.. but its only when u buy a new car.. not after that...

Default 18" Wheels

Lexus makes 18" wheels for its LS. The odds are that they will fit the GX.

Interesting, however I don't think I have ever seen a GX owner do this.

That would be kind of tough to do. The LS requires a 5 lug wheel and the GX requires a 6 lug wheel. Pretty big difference.
