im looking to get larger wheels but dont want to compromise the "lexus" ride.....my question to those who have already switched to size 22"s, do u have any regrets?? is this vehicle capable of handling this wheel upgrade.... meaning any fender or wheel well rubbing, more or less body roll, etc...any pros & cons i need or should know about?? ive seen several members with 20"s and they all look lovely but my idealogy is if im going to upgrade then why not the largest possible!! also, the tire setup im looking at is 265/40 or 305/40...any feedback is appreciated!!

well before i decided to settle with 20"s i had 22"s installed with 265/40 as recommended by my tire expert. I drove it and felt the ride is too rough. it takes away the smooth ride that lexus is famous for.. they do look nicer though.. no doubt.. but the ride simply sux.. on the other hand with 20" ur only loosing 15 on the sidewall.. which gets compensated by the better tires... if your gonna upgrade.. (whether to 20 or 22) make sure you get the best tires... best in the sense.. most comfortable. I have the Latest Ventus ST on mine.. and they r rating number one by tire rack n 1010 tires.. very comfortable tread.... and pretty aggressive styling.
So bottom line.. if you care about the ride go with 20"s if looks r more important (and feeling every little irregularities of the road isn't!!) then go with 22"S
by the way largest size would be 24.. i have seen few GXs with 24.. but i'm pretty sure that would rub while turning or over bumps.. so def a no no..

I have 22s of my GX470. No regrets. Like the reply above, it was all about the look for me. It definitely affected the ride though. For me, it wasn't really in a very negative way though. I was driving a 5 series BMW so I was used to feeling the road a bit. The stock wheels and tires on the GX470 felt to me a bit like you were floating. So I like the drive now and the negative is that hitting large potholes in the road does tend to make you cringe a bit.
