LOL! Every time I go to the stealer to have something done, they give me a loaner RX. I hate it! I love getting back into my GX at the end of the day and feeling the size and power!!

Be very cautious buying non-OEM spoilers. I tried it and sent it back. Ordered the OEM spoiler and installed it myself. Kind of scarry drilling into a $50K vehicle, but didn't have any troubles. The non-oem mounts and wiring don't look as easy either.

Are you referring to the spoiler list above on EBAY?

I backed into a pipe the other day at work and cracked a 10 inch piece off of my rear spoiler. I glued it back on and used touch up paint, but it does not look great. Would replacing the part myself be easy since I have one installed already?

I used to think that all GXs came with spoilers until I visited family in SOCAL and noticed that practically all the GXs I saw there (and I saw a great many) didn't have spoilers. [Apparently, a regional thing.] Personally, I like the spoiler that's fitted to the GX470. Besides being utterly functional, I think it's well-done and classy, and sets the GX apart from other SUVs.

I agree, the spoiler on the GX is design to blend in with the rest of the truck. If you want to see a ugly spolier, check out the one in the 4runner or the WRX.

I agree. The one that is optional on the 4Runner looks like a JC Whitney add on spoiler. And the WRX one, I won't even comment on it.

We wanted the spoiler on ours but it didn't originally have it so we ordered it afterwards. We had it installed by the dealer and we are glad we have it.

Not only does it look better (IMO), it also keeps the rear window clean like other people have said. A GX without the spoiler looks bald I think.

Spoiler! It just doesn't look right without it.

ok. fine it may not look that masculine, but at least it doesn't make the car look like a bubble on wheels. I was happy my RX300 had the new spoiler on it. made it look better.

sometimes i don't like these kind of spoilers. i have a tendency to use it, to like temporarily hold things. like i was in my garage (back in 02) and i had the remote control in my pocket. I told myself "I'll just put it on top of the spoiler so that it won't mix in with the junk i'm throwing out" and turns out i forgot to get it and drove off about half a mile before i remembered it. it fell off and hit my bumper and broke in several pieces. good thing it was a holiday weekend so i was able to go back and retrieve the parts of the remote and it still worked. So far that's been my worst experience with spoilers.

I would need a ladder to do that on the GX!

Speaking of which...

How strong is that spoiler? Every so often I want to climb on the GX bumper with the barn door closed, but I can't get on or off it without holding onto something. Can I grab onto the spoiler, or will it come off in my hands? I've been very hesitant.
