ok folks, who has aftermarket DVD in the car ?
OK I have a gx470 with Nav / ML. I dont have the DVD player in the ceiling, there is a little box under the center console that has headphone jacks for rear audio. I personally dont care much about for the factory screen, it seemed like it was about 7 inches (roof mounted) and did not sviwel side to side. Here is what I want, a dvd player for the 2 year old that goes in the headrest....I rather get the unit with the dvd player built in but it seems theyre expensive...what have others done ?

I got the dealer installed aftermarket one - talked it into the deal, but I think they run about $2k installed by the dealer - seen them on ebay for 12-1500, but it works really well and as much as I didn't want aftermarket, I am really happy with the sytem. It is dual headrest 7" widescreen monitors, 9 inch now available, the headrests are perfect factory match and the DVD player is built into the screens - each screen can have a different movie, or you can watch the same movie on both screens. Wireless headphones and remotes and FM modulator to play through the car speakers (I was a little afraid of it being FM modulation, but it works mint). I am very happy with this system, nice quality and very functional.

www.crutchfield.com sells them even though they say they sell through dealers only.

I would like something nice, I've seen headrest monitors but they need the a/v input from a dvd player, which goes somewhere, then the audio issue, so until the all in one units come down in price, I went to Walmart.com and grabbed a tablet style unit for $150..Thanks for the input
