yup...that's another bundle of cash. so i know the silver rims runs for $700 and you have to get tires as well...how much did it cost you for all (4) rims and (4) tires total?

i'm deciding which one is more important...rims or the navi system...hehehe or actually which one can i afford at this moment is what i should say.

It cost me around two grand for the 4-runner 18" chromed rims and Michelin X-Terrains.

MAybe if there are enough people interested in getting the wheels thru OEMRIMS, we can get a group buy together. I purchased a set of 18" wheels for my lx470 from them last year and it worked out very well...

Anyone else interested?

need everyone's input: does just ordinary silver look good with black gx or the chrome looks better.

i know for sure caps' white gx on metallic looks good. but what about black? i just never liked the bling look of metallic that's why.

Personally... I don't like chrome wheels on any cars!!
Unless it's a dish type wheels...
The lips can be chrome or polished with painted center...

The inexpensive way to go, is to have your OEM rims chromed. Most chrome places have the wheels on hand and just make an exchange and do the mounting in their shops. That's where Dealers get their wheels when a costumer requests Chromes.

Going that route, you don't have to buy new tires.

i called oemrims...they said you needed 10 people to get a it at $650 a set instead of 700 a set. not worth it in my mind as you gotta get all 10 sets shippied to 1 location! oh well... i tried.... still $700 is pretty good!

Hey, I'm curious: to those of you w/the 18" wheels, does it drive any differently? I'm hoping that it sharpens up the steering just a tad.

Also, how are the Cross Terrains?

I love the look of these wheels on the GX!

Thanks.

The Cross Terrains are one of the best tires I have driven on, good in the snow, quite and long thread life. A bit on the pricey side.

Great question!

The steering is much more responsive and less leaning around turns, primarily due to the decrease in tire profile.
