Have you had a remote start installed on your GX or do you know someone who has successfully?

Doc.....

I do not have a remote start, but I intend to have one installed in the near future.

Call me crazy but after owning my '07 RX for about 3 months I like the function of my Gen 3 nav system way better than the Gen 5. I feel like the Gen 3 is a quicker system, especially when inputting addresses etc. I do however love the bluetooth integration on the RX.

The 2007 GX info is now listed on the Lexus web site! Looks there is a pic of the new rear seat entertainment center, the DVD is now loaded from where the LCD and not in the center console.

Default MSRP Price Compare 2006 vs. 2007

http://www.lexus.com/lexusConfigApp/...tartOptions.do
lets you choose GX 470, then you can pick either 2006 or 2007. A couple things I noticed in my comparison (zip is in South Florida; Note, the Sport Package is still not offered in my area but the black wood trim seems to be available now without the Sport package for some colors):

1) No MSRP increase (still $46,635 + 695 destination)
2) In my area, there are now 10 packages being offered instead of 20.
3) 2 identical 2006 packages with Nav are now about $200 more in my area for 2007.
4) 3 identical 2006 packages with Nav & RSES are now about $300 more in my area for 2007.
5) As stated before, same 7 exterior colors, but...
6) (again... no Sport Package offered in my area, but) These colors allowed me to choose interior colors with the black birds-eye maple trim: Titanium Metallic, Ash Blue Mica, and Black Onyx (not sure if this is a mistake or what).
7) On the Accessories page (page 4), there is now an item called "17-inch Six-Spoke Alloy Wheels"

So to summarize, no price increase, but some of the more popular packages seem to have a $200-$300 price increase and there might be a way to get the black wood trim on some colors without the Sport Package (what I really wanted was the Sport Pkg available with the brown wood since stand-alond KDSS is so difficult to get).

So apparently Lexus is close enough to redesigning or replacing this vehicle that they don't feel it's worth the added cost of designing HID headlights (something this vehicle should have had the first year it came out without question) or push-button start.

Is it just me or does the GX have a very short model year? I bought the very first 05 off from my dealer and seems like 6m later the 06's are out and now the 07's are going to be at the dealer in 2 weeks!

Granted, Lexus has made no significant changes since 2005 except for the new electronics in the 07 - now can get factory XM and iPod with the GEN5.

It's just you. Each model year has lasted roughly a year - sometimes the last year is cut short for an early intro for a redesigned model, but the GX is a first gen vehicle so if anything it might have had a long first year and from there forward just 1 year at a time.

It is probably since the '05's had a later release - December 2005 (I know because I was waiting patiently for my car to arrive around Christmas time). Now the new models are coming out in September so we probably had a full 06 year but the 05's were for sure a shorter year run.

08 is supposed to have some significant changes - will have to wait and see!

Default Sticking thread for a while

I'm going to make this thread sticky for a while, as I think there is interest as the 2007 model is introduced.

Please post any impressions or news as you actually start to see or even drive the 2007 model. Any general mod discussions that get into detail (such as a discussion of remote start installations, etc.) should be opened up under a different topic.

The GX and the 4Runner are supposed to be redesigned for the 2009 model year, so they should be out in the 4th quarter of 2008. So looks like 2 more years before a new redesign shows up at the dealerships. I read where Lexus/Toyota is redesigning the 4.7 V8 and it will have about 330 HP.

Looking at the 2007, it's a relief to see the Nav buttons were moved to the side of the display. Nearly every time I enter an address, my hand would drift down and touch a button and change the screen.
