Default Anyone have tow hitch?

Anyone have tow hitch that they dont want??? Some of you guys got it and never plan to tow anything ot even attach anything to it.

I am in need of one and willing to compensate some fund for it. I know... i can get a new one from stealer or online, but just asking around if someone out there might have one that they dont plan to use...

Based on your previous post:

if $180 is to expensive for the full blown class 3 hitch, supposedly there is a $50 bolt on "tow hitch receiver" that you should be able to pick up from the dealer... it's probably not Class 3 or weight distributing, but should suffice for a couple of bicycles...

I think that might be a solution. Just gonna bolt on 2 mountain bikes... that's it. Never going to tow anything ..... ill call the dealer and find out. THanks

It isn't quite that cheap

http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...bCategoryID=16

About $190 for the bolt to the bumper receiver - it would do what you want, but is cheaper to just get a full aftermarket hitch.

I got a Curtis from hitchsource.com, I think it was about 145 delivered http://www.hitchsource.com/classiiit...h-p-25951.html and bolted up pretty quick, the factory wiring plug was in the way and I relocated it to the hitch itself, but other than that it is a nice hitch for the money and 1/3 the price of the lexus one that looks exactly the same!

The above tube assembly bracket is for 2003 GX's built prior to May 2003, so I don't think it would work on his 06 GX.

I have an 06 and put the curtis on it - it said 03-05 and I called them and they said it also was for 06 - no issue bolting it on - all the holes lined up!

Rob.....

The Curt hitch will work because the outer holes on the hitch match the holes on the GX. The Lexus hitch has extra holes in the center that bolt onto the frame.

I too have the Curt hitch I bought from U-Haul. I had a Welding Shop weld a plate from the center of the hitch to the frame for extra support.

However, in my opinion the hitch you have is plenty strong for most purposes.

Thank you guys. Ya... i might just get one of those and maybe weld on for extra support. But im only going to be tugging 2 bikes.. lol... Class 3 towing hitch might be a overkill.. hehe

Got my aftermarket Curt hitch here a few years ago.

They still have a great price.

I have been towing around my homemade trailer with no issues.
