i just had the same problem fixed. i had two sensors in the rear replaced and know i'm back to normal ride height. apparently what happens is that the sensors go bad and they are constantly trying to raise the truck to normal ride height so it jacks up the rear end too it's highest point. fortunetly i'm still under warranty so it didn't cost me anything. but the dealer should know what the problem is and they should just charge you for the actual fix and not a "let's see if we can figure out what the problem is" fee

hey
thanks for this ... it helps alot.. i'm planing to just call the partshop.. ask the price of the sensors and then get it done from my local shop... labour at the dealership is 100/hr compared to 50/hr at my local shop.

i'll check my paperwork to see if the part numbers are on it. the guys in the parts departments can be clueless sometimes.

yeh sure. by the way i called the parts dept here .. and theytold me each sensor is $367.. and he said... that may be only one needs to be changed ... but i'm looking at anywhere from 500 to $1000... this is ridiculous... i hope there is a way to just fix it.. would have to talk to the local guy.

For a $1000, I would rather just let the truck ride high.

i know i was not gonna pay 1000 just for height sensor. but fortunately... sensor is working normal now.. its so wierd.. i'm so happy.. height is back to normal.. and car lowers everytime i turn the car off... so its cool.. but my next service which is due in a day... i will make sure i get the dealership to inspect why it was happening.

Went for my service... (like i feared) dealership can't find anything wrong with it. they don't know why the car was riding high in the past. According to them if it happens again... then i should bring in the car. rite now everythin's normal.

I consulted the manual about this and it says that if you have the height set on Hi, it will reset to normal past 8mph! If it is re-setting at this low of a speed, it must not be good for the GX to ride hi at high speeds???

yeh .. not only that.. the thing that bothered me was if i went on bumps... the rear end would make strange noice as if shocks weren't working properly.... but fortunately for me its working ok now. but deep inside i'm still thinkin it might happen again.. coz dealership dint do anything.

p/n for mine was 89407-60022 (sensor sub-assy)

No idea how to replace and mine was done under warranty but shouldn't be too hard. Try a search here or IIRC someone not long ago posted a link to an on-line repair manual. Apparently you can pay ~ $5 and get 24hours access to view [cough]download[/cough] the pages you need. You might also try the Sewell Lexus site as they have exploded parts diagram pages as well.

Good luck

very easy just a few bolts I think anyone could do this adjustment is a slide rod you can see where old ones used to be put new ones same place then you can adjust a little at a time. very common these will sieze up general rule of thum if truck goes up and wioll not come down left sensor bad if goes down and will not come u[p right sensor bad. I recommend to replace both after 4 years just to be sure they do not seize up at wrong time like on a trip

I can not believe you can spend 50k plus for a vehicle but can not afford to take it somewhere better than Sams club
