Default Lexus Key

BlkGX470.....

Looks to me that by the time you spend $50 to get the key programmed you will have spent as much as Sewell Lexus wants for the key, with our CL discount. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's a good lesson for all of us.

Actually I got the uncut OEM Key from a dealer on ebay and it was $79 plus $20 to get it cut. Although, the key came with programming instructions I have not tried it yet.

So that's $100 for a key. I called around LA from different lexus dealers and I got quotes from $200 to as high as $400.

Where is Sewell Lexus located? It's out of state isn't it?

Why didn't you let me know you were coming down here? We would've met

Sorry you couldn't get it at the price that I got it for. They weren't affiliated with me or clublexus so mentioning the name wouldn't help . They just happen to be the 2nd locksmith that I checked when I drove around and this was about a year ago.
He asked me where I got the key also.

Sewell is in Texas.

For $50 to program the key? Screw that, save your $50, come down next time and we'll fiddle with the program. It's not that hard at all as I remember from my GS.

Why don't you try the programming that came with the key? It's just a matter of putting in the master key, take it out, put in new key, step here, step there........

Hey GS3Tek,

I didn't know we were coming to Orange County this past weekend. It was a spur of the moment. Give me your contact number so I can give you a ring when i'm down there. I will definitely call you if I can't figure out the programming thing.

I will try it this week to see if I can program it. By the way, did you program first to start the car or did you program the buttons first?

Cap,

its alright, i from what my wife always tells me am **** when it comes to almost everything so i try my best to spend wisely as well. that's why i called around and see which dealers were reasonable and none of them were.

I didn't think of ordering keys from out of state because I thought they have to program it so it has to be local. At least next time I know I can get it anywhere.

Thanks for the heads up about Sewell Lexus though. Which is funny because I ordered All Season Floor Mats from there as well. I got it from ebay and that's why I didn't know it was from Sewell.

By the way, you, GS3Tek and I should meet and have some bobba one of these days.

Just wanted to check on your progress.

Sure thing, we can meet up. Let me know when you're down in this area again.
