The proposed JX is GS based and will be a sporty SUV between the RX and GX.
LX name lives on & becomes the LX 570......

New JX will Be replacing LX. And JX is based on next Seqouia/tundra platform. One of the guys i know who works at lexus plant at cambridge also said the same thing i remember telling him that i was gonna buy the next LX model and he said LX is going out of production in 2008 and would be replaced by JX so i should just wait.
Here's few links for starters. Few of them are from Auto-Review Companies.

The thread below has a quote that says that the JX will be IS-based (which is different than the autoweek article says down below):
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=245164
"Also reportedly on tap is a new Lexus midsize CUV, dubbed JX, going on sale next year as an ’08 model. The AWD JX will share the Lexus IS platform, NC250 rather than the RAV4 platform."
This was another interesting thread on the "HPX" SUV:

"JX 470: The big brother to the RX 330 crossover comes off the new GS sedan platform in mid-2007. For styling hints and dimensions, look to the Lexus LF-X (nee HPX) concept car, which had a 116-inch wheelbase, 194-inch overall length and room for three rows of seats. Power would come from a 4.3-liter V-8, although a 3.5-liter V-6 also might be offered. Competitors include the Infiniti FX35 and FX45."

Well the autoweek topic does suggest it will be bigger then RX smaller then GX and based on GS. but
1. Autoweek article is still few months old compared to intelichoice. Intelichoice has been far more acurate then autoweek when it comes to future vehicle predictions...
2. my fren works at the lexus plant and he knows for sure that lx is going out of production and being replaced by another suv based on same platform as the next sequoia and tundra.
And realistically speaking lexus has to redesign the LX now its a 10 yr old design... i would think that would be thier first priority rather then introducing yet another SUV...
but i guess all of us would have to just wait n see.

I agree with STIG...I used to only own a GX and loved it. Thought to myself, now this is what a luxury SUV should be...then my wife traded in her car and we got an X5. Boy, those two are totally different from each other and can't be compared.
Lexus GX is for smoother, classy rides...definitely not for sport/fast driving
BMW X5 is more for fast, cornering and quick pick up driving, somewhat smooth ride but you're not floating like the GX

I suggest doing some research before posting. What your talking about is VX concept... which will be based on GS platform.

JX if indeed it does come, will be GS based.
You can post links to sites with people who speculate or you can believe me and look at my track record about Lexus news.

but i guess we will have to wait and see...
and whatever (SUV) lexus introduces next is what i would like to buy compared to another GX or X5 (which has been plagued with maintainence issues ever since.. even in its 6th yr production)
