Default coastaltech and Viastech...

Who here has installed them both, I have the lockpick ultimate on the way and I have Viastech SLI Ipod adapter. Has anyone installed both if it can be done at all. Let me know, because if push come to shove I can sell the SLI and wait for coastaltech to get one up and running from what I have been hearing.

Do a search someone posted about it and had them both working and could choose which one pushed the I agree button as both them did it.

Part of an old post of mine:

I have installed the Ultimate Lockpick and continue to use the Vais SLI Ipod Adapter. Except for a need to separate the audio feeds with an isolator or switch, all is well. It seems they both send audio into the same input, so the Lockpick wins every time. There is a note about this, in the instructions, so I am not surprised.

I disabled the Vais "I agree" feature so the Coastal unit would do it. The Lockpick fires the "I agree" faster and does not seem to be confused by immediately going into reverse after start up. The destination and Bluetooth overrides have worked flawlessly.

Hope this is fruitier.

Thanks Lou, I did just that and its working so far. My wife loves the fact she can watch DVD upfront now, while I am driving. Most of the movies she watch is chick flix. So I am totally focused on driving. Ipod is working flawlessly. Thanks for the advance.

Thanks Lou. I am planning to do the same on my 2006 GX. Based on what I read here, lockpick is needed to use the NAV and BT while the vehicle is in motion AND the VAISTECH IPOD interface is needed to connect an IPOD and choose the songs through the NAV screen interactively. Is my understanding correct? Also, which models of both I should order.

Thanks once again.

You're correct in your assumption. I went through this installation today, and you can read my results at the VAIS thread below. Note that I did this in a 2007 Prius, but the same should apply to Lexus configurations.

Good luck.

Yes it will work - I have a 2006 - Viastech SLI with Aux input and IPOD - it can also do the I Agree Button, slightly slower than the Lockpick, so it will never normally notice it and you can disable it (actually you have to enable it, it is off by default which is what you want). The Lockpick Ultimate will do the I agree, unlock the nav and bluetooth and will also provide an audio and video input into the front screen. Both work differently - Lockpick you can't really customize settings or turn things on or off - all the features are just on. It will use the DVD input for the aux audio/video input. The Viastech uses the MD input on the factory system for the inputs, so everything will work fine all together.

Great and thanks. A few more questions:
What version is the NAV software in your truck? Does the lockpick work with v6.1? Are both of the devices installed behind the NAV screen in the dash or the lockpic goes to the NAV DVD under the passenger seat?

I may ask you a few more questions later when I actually install the devices.

Thanks.
