The 2nd row seat do not slide fore/aft, it only reclines. I would not put anybody over 5 feet tall in the 3rd seat for any long trips, unless you dont like that person.

I agree with GMan...i've had the unpleasant pleasure of riding on the 3rd seat with other SUVs and it is not the most comfortable ride ever and it wasn't even an hour ride.

My wife is 5' tall and has ridden in the 3rd row of our GX... she indicated that although not "uncomfortable", she would not want to be back there for more than about an hour... OTOH, our 6 year old daughter could live back there if we let her...

Primary issue with 3rd row is the seat sits directly on the floor (i.e. no seat bottom height). So by definition if you have legs then your knees are sticking up.
But do be aware the 3rd row seats also recline (a limited amount).
We've used the 3rd row for longer rides (for one person) in two different modes. One is to set both seats up, and the person sits somewhat sideways, with their legs on the seat bottom or put only one seat down, and the person again puts their legs out sideways.
