Default What's employee pricing for Lexus?

I just got a letter from my Lexus dealer saying they were close to winning a sales award and needed to sell some vehicles to get it. The letter says there's a 2-day event this Friday/Saturday and I can get any new Lexus that's in stock at "employee pricing".

Anyone know what that is so I can tell whether it's even worth considering? We have 2 '04 GXs. I'd have to go through the hassle of selling mine or take trade-in (which they also said would be "special").

I think it's just their way of getting you in. I've been told the deals I get are better than employee deals. I usually pay no more than several hundred over invoice. (like zero to about 800 over)

You can always go "play" with them........... See if it's around invoice, otherwise I'd pass

Not sure on the exact price of employee pricing for GX but employee is 3% below the invoice base of the car plus all the options at dealer invoice. So I just brought up KBB and it looks like the base MSRP of the GX is 47,350(no options) and the invoice is 41,286. 3% of 41K is $1230.00 so that is about 39.8K. Then add all the options you want at invoice, so NAV invoice is 2,633, etc.

http://www.kbb.com/KBB/NewCars/Optio...83&YearId=2007

You can use that to see if they are pulling your leg, print that form out even and show them.

Hmm, 3% below invoice is actually pretty good. And the KBB value on my 04 looks pretty good too, could make a few thousand selling it maybe. The only fly in the ointment seems to be interest rates right now. I have a 3.75% on my current GX. The best I see around on Bankrate is 6.24% today. I'd hate to trade any of my gain for almost twice as much interest. Hmmm.

employee pricing would depend on the dealerships guidlines. the last place i worked i could get one for invoice minus holdback plus $1000 and plus the doc fee. the place i am at now its $100 over invoice, but no doc fee. if it's a dealership promotion it will be what their employee pricing is. let us know what it comes out to be.

I sold my Jeep 4 years ago and I still get one of those employee discount thing in the mail every 6 months from the dealer. Don't waste your time.
