Looking to buy a 2003 and noticed on the Lexus site it is 4585lbs vs 4740 for the 2004 through 2006. Anyone know why, and were there and problems with the 2003. Is 25k good for a 2003 with 65k miles?

As far as the lbs issue, I have no clue. But I wanted to let you know that I just purhchased a 2003 GX470 with 47K miles on it for $30K... so your price isn't bad.

As far as I know, the only diff. between the 03 and the 04 is the side curtain air bags and the roll sensors. I am sure that doesnt weight 200 pounds. Maybe they included the weight of the 3rd row seat and the rear air conditioning, which is pretty much a force option with the newer GX.

From what I remember of the time period between the two models there was a GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight = vehicle + max load)change. The 2003 model was, GVW 6000lbs. (and had a recall because the sticker stated, GVW 6100lbs). Something changed at that time to make the 2004 models have the value of, GVW 6100 lbs. That change was made to accomadate some Tax benefit for large vehicles. And the 6100lbs was the threshold.
