I just took delivery on my new 2007 Lexus Gx470. Has anyone put Thule (or similar) racks on the GX470? Can the rack be attached to the factory stays (posts)? Does anyone have pictures of their GX470 with non-factory racks. I typically carry surfboards but like the Thule rack for my canoe, bikes and other toys.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I've never used the Thule system but I have Yakimas on mine and they work just fine. The Yakima towers attach directly to the factory side rails. I did have to move the factory cross rails towards the rear of the rack to clear possible obstruction from mounting the Yakima towers. A little tall though. I'm sure Thule has similar towers that would work with these types of factory rails.

I use the Yakima Lowriders which attach to the factory racks. I used a roof top cargo carrier with the stock rails but they were too flexable. The lowriders worked great.

I attached a Thule Box directly to my Lexus crossbars without issue... worked fine and seemed reasonably aerodynamic to boot... For our BMW 525iT (wagon) we used some Thule towers that strapped around the existing side bars, and mounted the box to the crossbars in the Thule towers... also worked well, and could be used on the Lexus as well, but would add a couple of additional inches in height...
