Default 2007 Gx470 Temporary Over-ride Help!

Has anyone been able to temporarily bypass the navigation restriction while in motion in the '07 GX model? I simply want to be able to bypass the address input restriction during those few trips that navigation is truly needed. It's for my wife to use of course.

I've tried both options (menu-volume-upleft-downleft-upleft-downleft / menu-dvd-upleft-downleft-upleft-downleft-downright) but couldn't get to the service screen. I'm beginning to suspect '07 has a block on the bypass.

Please help! I don't need it 100% of the time and thus don't want to have to resort to LockPick...at least not yet.

Thanks!

I wish there was a way but I don't think it can be done on the 07 GX. In a few weeks, I will be driving from NY to CA and I'm sure the overide would come in real handy for locating restaurants coming up in the miles ahead. And not just at the next exit like the stock navigation unit does.

You can use the voice recognition for destination while driving. It is explained in your owner's manual and actually works great.

My dealer also told me to practice with the voice recognition input for the nav destination. Since there are no other options, I'll probably try that.

I think I'll get the basic lockpick 3 to over-ride this rediculous restriction. If this restriction is imposed across the board, I can understand. As most of us on here know, it's not.

The installation of the basic lockpick 3, I think, is simple. Doesn't involve the sound system at all. I think it's a simple connection into the unit under the passenger seat.

If anyone has experience, please confirm or comment!
