I'm thinking about trading in my IS 350 for an SUV and I like the GX470, but I'm scared to get it right before the next gen comes out. Has anyone heard when the 4runner and 470 will be redesigned?

 

Will be redesigned for the 2009 model year. So it would be about an 18 month wait for the 09 model.

 

and don't forget they'll still have to iron out the bugs on the redesign. when the GX first came out, Consumer Reports rated a few of its areas of reliability with a black dot. so sometimes it's a good idea to wait a year or so after the redesign....

 

Not necessarily - Lexus has been coming out with the new models at different times in the previous years. We bought our 2007 RX350 in July of 2006, and it had already been out a few months. An 09GX could be out by this time next year in 08, or even sooner.

The 2009 redesign GX is only a rumor at this point, it may be as late as 2010.

That's fine. All the longer our GX's will look current.

 

Interesting list. Three crossovers? NO LX, and I doubt if the rumored JX is replacing it with the RX engines. Maybe the MCX (first I have heard of that one).

So will the GX be bigger to go with the bigger engine?

I'll have to guess that the later the list goes the more it is tentative. I won't ask where it is from, as I assume you would have told us if you were going to

 

The RX will be redesign next year, I dont see that on the chart.
