My 06 GX just went in yesterday for the 10,000 mile check up (we have 7800 miles on this). Could anyone give me an idea on how much this service will cost? Normally with our other trucks we did the maintenance ourselves but with this being the first foreign car we wanted this to go back to the dealer. From this service on we will do it ourselves.

I was quoted $139 by my dealer. I was told the service involved changing oil & filter, topping off fluids, changing cabin microfilter and rotating tires. I ended up taking the vehicle to my wife's Volvo dealer, who did the same service (except cabin microfilter) for $50.

Thanks Linko,
I have a 100.00 dollar coupon so it will be OK then. From here on out we will take it to our guy that has done our other trucks. We never took any of our new trucks to the dealers for service before. We got a tire replacement guarantee if they did all our maintenance I didn't know that the maintenance was so expensive. I'll buy my own tires. Most of the time we don't hold on to a truck long enough to replace tires.

A "10,000 mile checkup" is a fancy oil change. I paid $34.99 at a Toyota dealership. The cabin filter can be removed and cleaned with Febreeze or another odor removal product. I do not think it is necessary to change it after just 10,000 miles under most conditions. It is located behind the glovebox.
I also paid $34.99 for my "15,000 mile service," skipping the cabin filter again and not doing the driveshaft maintenance. Why? Lexus is replacing my driveshaft regardless due to the TSB. I hope they torque down the driveshaft after they do that warranty work. I "visually inspected" the brakes myself, too.
