2007 Demo (isn't a demo really a used car)
I visited my local dealer today and came across a 2007 demo with 7,000 miles. The window sticker indicated an MSRP of $57,000. The dealer offered the car for $48,500. I would have thought the price should have been closer to $45,000. They basically had a similiar car with 10 miles for $50,000. Any thoughts on these prices?

It is a used and possibly abused car, since it was demoed all day long....it may have never been registered to anyone so you can technically get new car financing and youll be the first owner. I would ask for a greater discount like you mentioned, for 50K you can probably get the new 08 soon since its base price dropped by a grand anyways, so unless the car has the exact specs you want and price is right, i would go for an 08 anyways

No brainer. Get the one w/ 10 miles! The $1.5K difference amounts to only 3% of the price. 7K mi on a demo car is a lot. Sure it's not a loaner car? The reason why they try to sell it as "new" is because (1) it's never been registered before and (2) the new car warranty is like min(4 yrs, 50K mi). Of course, the 7K mi counts against that 50K mi, but the 4 yrs starts when the car is bought "new" while a used car w/ 7K mi would have the 4 yr clock ticking already. 7K mi , is like 15% of the 50K mi warranty, so if you drive a lot, it will matter.
