Default anyone have non-stock DVD Entertainment...

My wife finally decided on Savannah Metallic w/ Ivory Leather for her color on the 2008 GX470. The one the stealer has does not have the DVD ent.
in the rear. We promised our son that feature. The dealer said they can install one themselves in the headrests.......

Does anyone have a non-stock System in their GX??
If so post some pix please ........

Thanks for the compliments, The Gs is a nice ride. The DVD players have no brand really, just made in hong kong LOL. Here is a link to the item from the seller I bought from. I figure at this price, it is a great deal. If you end up getting them, PM me on pointers on install. The 2 things I found I dont like it that the 2 units will not show the same DVD w/o plugging in the front of the DVD player, 2nd is the fact that the remote does not turn the unit on or off in my car !!!! You have to press the front power button, overall they are a good buy Item 320189625034

I had an aftermarket DVD system installed in 2004 GX. The kids really enjoy the dual screens in the headreasts, and the wife and I enjoy the wireless headphones.
The only drawback is the placement of the DVD unit itself. It's in the compartment behind the front cupholders where you push on the doors to open them. It really cuts back on the limited storage area available to the driver.

I had a factory installed DVD player in my last GX but had one installed by the dealer in my new 2008 one. One thing to consider, which makes perfect sense but never crossed my mind til I got my new one, is that the dealer installed DVD is not connected to the navigation system. On the factory installed DVD player my kids could put the navi map on their screen and even use the remote to play around with the navi curser and explore, but they can't do that on the new one and are kind of disappointed. Overall it's a small point but still one I wish I had thought of before I got the dealer installed DVD player.

I just hang a portable DVD player from the passenger seat headrest with some thick rubber bands It's got rechargeable batteries but I usually just plug it into the rear outlet.

Advantages:
1) inexpensive
2) can hide it when not in use
3) can bring it into your hotel room or whatever if traveling and use it there too
4) can use it with your other vehicles too

Disadvantages:
1) looks ghetto
2) not incorporated into the vehicles wireless headphone system
3) can't see it on nav screen - not that you should be watching movies anyway
4) did I say it looks ghetto?
