Remote starting kit for a GX 470?
I have a 2004 GX470 and was wondering if anyone has had any success with a remote car starting kit for starting your car from inside a house or office? What do they cost? Are they effective? Install costs?....ect...
Any info is greatly appreciated.

My GX came with an Astrostart auto-starter when I purchased it. It starts up fine from in my house and office depending on how far I parked it from the window. The issue I've experienced with it is that once you start it there's no way to remotely turn it off and when you get to the car you have to unlock the door with your key. These issues are most likely due to the model of the starter package that was purchased as I've had other autostart/security systems installed on different vehicles and the only issue I've found was the range/distance.
DEI (Directed Electronics Inc. owns many of the familiar brands that are sold out there such as python, viper, clifford, avital)
I was thinking about switching out the astro-start for a brand called Compustar because they have an autostart/security system with a 2 way remote that has a range of 1 1/4 miles.
