Traded in my 05 GX for a 08 GS350 AWD

Even though the GS is AWD, it is still wearing those performance run flat tires. You can only do so much with those in snowy conditions as I have learn from my BMW in the pass. Going from Michelin cross terrain to those Dunlops will take a while to get use it. The AWD in the GS does help, the GS is nowhere near as bad as the BMW in the snow, but I do miss that feeling of being able to handle any snow storm that the GX offers, but I am sure that thought will be replace in the summer time when I take the GS out on a few performance runs

I just have to chime in for fun. Had an 04 GX, traded in last month for an 05 LS, now I can't stand the LS (ok I can stand it but I grow bored....) and am seriously considering an 06 GS430 w/ 24k on it from Lexus. Oh, BTW, I'm from MA, Foxboro, formerly Readville.

Oh... and I MISS my GX!!!!!!!! Terribly!!! I had it since new and I see the truck sitting on the lot now and my stomach turns. That was an awesome truck in my opinion... but I now have a Tundra from work so I do not need, but I should have kept it anyways... I just had to share

I noticed you use to have an RX330, what happen to that one?
I ask because the wife wants an RX330. I told her when I'm finished with Grad school she can get it, right now I'm paying for school out of pocket and the payments aren't fun.

rjfiore1, If what you really want is a luxury SUV, then you probably should by the GS430 either. As you already know, they are completely 2 diff. animals. That being said, the GS430 have the same amount of horsepower as the GS350 and the 430 is 800 pounds heavier. Also the GS350 have a AWD option which is great in New England. I test drove the LS 2 weeks ago, its the redesign one. The interior is simpley amazing, plenty of horsepower, but the handling was no better than the ES. The ride was a lot smoother than both the ES and the GS. I miss my GX too, but I hope once I break in the new GS and have some fun with it, that feeling will go away
Kphu, my sister just bought a 08 RX350, very nice SUV, but its no GX. Material used and fit and finish not as good as the GX, but most female love that SUV for some reason, not my cup of tea.

The same happened with the LS. I drove it for a month and decided it was not for me. And yes, I'm a fool cause I lost some cash. Not much, but enough I guess to call me a fool.:sad

The GS was redesign in 2006, so the 06 GS300 looks the same as the 07 and 08 GS350 but the power diff. is like night and day between the GS300 and the GS350. The GS300: 245 HP, 0-60 in low 7s. The GS350 with the new direct fuel injection egine: 303 HP, 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. When the GS350 1st came out last year, all the GS430 owners were up in arms because the GS350 actually had more HP than the more expensive V8 and gets better gas mileage. Since then, Lexus upgrade the V8 to 4.6 liter direct fuel injection and 342 HP, 0-60 in 5.4 sec. but the price tag remains about 9000 dollars more.

sorry for the late response...lost a guy at work so I'm doing double workload until we get the approval to rehire...company in hiring freeze so the position needs to be reapproved.
Anyways, The G Man, thanks for the info on the GS, I'm itching to trade up my ES300 but at under 100K she's still got a long way to go and I probably won't get much for a trade in or private party sale so I have to fight the urge until I have a valid excuse for the wife.
The wife is in love with the looks of the RX but when the time comes I'll see if she'll stay with the GX so that I can trade the ES to get the GS or LS if money aint a thing. If not it'll be the GX and RX as our family.
Damn Pats...

One of the reason I traded in the GX is that everytime I look in my garage and see 2 SUV, I scratch my head and wonder why we would need 2. On a side note, I took my GS out to storrow drive the other day, you should see the big smile on my face when I got home
