I do miss my GX, but I am starting to get over. I had 3 SUV before this one and its hard to go back to a sedan. The GS makes it easier with all the nice new toys, good road manner and pretty good gas mileage for a 300+ HP car.

yeah I know exactly what you mean, but with kids having the space makes it soo much easier to put things in and take stuff out, but as a daily commuter without the kids its not very cost effective.

Here's a new concept. an SUV that you can split in 1/2 so that it can be an easy daily commuter or the rugged SUV when you need it.

I think my wife's new RAV4 V6 comes pretty close. The cargo space when rear seat is folded down is bigger than the GX, yeah I was surprised too. The RAV4 is pretty good in the snow and is much quicker than the GX470, 0-60 in 6.4 sec. I believe. We have the RAV4 Sports and it handles much better than the GX even with the KDSS option. Here is the kicker, the RAV4 gets about 26 MPG on the highway. Why cant Lexus make a SUV like that

Seriously...I'd highly consider it if they did.

There was some rumors floating around last year about a Lexus version of the RAV4 to compete with the Acura RDX, but that rumor kind of die down, but who knows.

I wish I could do the same...but with mortgage and kid...its hard to do. I actually want to get rid of my curren't '03 Black GX and want to get a newer White GX with more options.

Good job, 5.25% mortgage (Md. home as opposed to Ca.), timing, and luck. I got great deals on trade-ins. When I traded my `04 SC for the `05 645 (CPO) in 2006, I got $47K credit on the trade-in. It probably did not hurt that the SC had only 11K miles on the odometer. [In December 2007, I traded the 645 for an `07 650i and got a great deal due to year-end incentives from BMW (invoice + 3.9% financing).] Same for the `06 CPO S4 that I purchased in July 2007 - I traded an `05.5 A4 with 15K miles on the odometer and received $27K credit on the trade.

my mortgage rate isn't bad either at 5.875% considering its a jumbo loan. The cost of houses in the boston area suck compare to the rest of the U.S. The only 2 other states that I know of that are more expensive is CA and NY.

In the back of my mind of kind of hoping that when I finish grad school that I get a sweet deal out of state that I can't refuse. But then again it's like wishful thinking so the probability of it happening is like hitting the lottery.

LeslieRC,

Seems like the GX is out dated...you going to upgrade soon? hahaha

Frankly, we need an SUV in the family and nothing on the market appeals to me more than the GX470. Ours has 30K miles on the odometer, no exterior/interior wear and tear, and the ride and feel are solid. So, no changes planned.

I just thought you liked getting new toys and will be upgrading to a 2008 or perhaps 2009 if its enhanced.
