Default VSC, VSC TRAC & Check

In my 2006 GX 470 all VSC, VSC Trac and Check sign are on. It wouldn't go off after few seconds when i start the car. Does any one have an idea as to why this happens? The manuel said to check the gas tank cap and i made sure it is tight. Now it wouldn't go off even after several resarts. PLease help. THe car has 37K miles and recently been in for the regular maintainance. Thanks for reading.

You're under the factory warranty, have a dealer check it out since it might involve a factory code breakout box to read the VSC error codes.

You can always disconnect the battery for 15-30 minutes. Reconnect the battery and drive the truck like normal. The code may then be cycled out; if the warning lights come back on take it to be checked at the dealer.

Thank you "brickauto" and "dholling13". I probably take it to the dealer. Is it ok to drive in this condition. The dealership is about 4 hours away.

I don't think it's a problem to drive with the lights on, just be cautious as the VSC system is probably disabled when the lights are permanently on (indicating there is an error with the VSC system).

+1 on taking it to the dealership. I have seen misc. VSC problems on the GX. It could be a few different things.

I asked the dealership about this when I had the same problem. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the Traction System, they said. Apparently, that will go on when there is are particular other problems with the car. For example: my car had water in the fuel (bad gas station) and the engine was misfiring. This had nothing to do with traction control, yet the lights still went on.
With this info in mind, I would absolutely take it in. I take mine in for ANYTHING I possibly can, as Newport Lexus gives out brand new loaners (you get to choose which model) for FREE. Love it!

I had the exact same problem - took the dealer a year to fix it - for most of the year, it was intermittent - would come on sometimes after you start the car or after you drive it, pretty much all the lights on, VSC, VSC Trac, Check Engine and occassionaly the diff lock light. I took it to the dealer 2 or 3 times, but each time it wouldn't do it for them and they saw no codes. Some weeks it would be on almost all week, sometimes not on for a month. Eventually it came on one morning while I was driving and power was significantly reduced - you barely go up hills - took it in and they found some air pump device had failed - it was under the intake manifold and required the intake to come off and a fair bit of work to get to it. Once they fixed that it has been perfect ever since!

I thank you for all the i/p. I gained a great deal of knowledge about this problem just reading this thread. To summarize, i learned that it could be several issues that cause these lights to go on. Any way the good news is: THE LIGHTS IN MY GX ARE ALL GONE NOW!!. The manual said that it could be a loose gas cap. Sure it was the loose gas cap. But when i tightened the cap the lights didn't go off right away hence i started this thread. But now I've understood that it runs more than just a few tests to make sure the problem is fixed and then the lights went off! Hooray! I just love my life when everything works like the way it is supposed to be! - THANKS A BUNCH!
