Need to check price on a 2003 GX 470
#2
I would recommend against it. In fact, I would not recommend buying any used GX with that many miles if it was not under a CPO warranty from Lexus.
That said, as far as the particular price of that vehicle it seems about right for a non-CPO, non-navi, non-3rd row '03 GX with that many miles with the record high gas prices we're facing today. Have you checked autotrader.com , cars.com , and carmax websites to see what they are asking for similar vehicles?

Site unseen, the price seems like a fair asking price. I just checked autotrader.com and there are roughly 250 '03 GX's for sale, the cheapest ones (not counting the "salvage title" ) have an asking price a bit below your price, but not by much. I just can't recommend in good conscious that anyone buy an out of warranty GX - the price to fix these things is astronomical (e.g., clunk fix, air suspension, etc). I'd also recommend you hold out for one with the navi/ML system - it's a fantastic feature well worth the $$$ and plus the interior of the GX looks naked without it IMO.

I would have to disagree with the above sentiments. I bought a 1-owner '03 GX470 with 63k miles on it, to date no problems. The place I take all of my vehicles to be serviced, JP Importz, has told me that the GX470 is a solid vehicle, that generally has no problems outside of normal wear and tear...this coming from someone who used to work at Lexus as a tech.
As long as the previous owners have taken care of it (i.e. changed the oil, etc.) and have taken care of the clunk tsb, it should last a long time...it's a Lexus after all and not a Porshe Cayanne, BMW X5, or Range Rover.
I bought a '98 GS400 back in '01 with 30k miles, it now has 115k miles, I haven't had any problems, still runs strong. I previously bought a GS300 with 108k miles, and ultimately sold it with 145k miles, and running strong.
You can opt for a CPO GX470, but of course you will have to pay a hefty premium over the 24-25k price for non CPO GX470's.
You can search in the GX forums here and other websites, and the vast majority of owners have confirmed that generally the GX470 is a solid vehicle not having major issues.
Good luck with your search.

I also disagree with the previous comments about not buying an out of warranty GX. If one were to buy a used vehicle, I'd have to say Lexus would be one of the few brands that I would trust. I have a 95 ES300 that has 186K miles and I hope to keep it for as long as possible. I plan to keep my GX for up to 200K miles as well. I'd say 60K on a Lexus or Toyota is just getting breaking it in. Sure, you'll have some maintaince things to do, but you're saving over $25K off the new price. The $3K you save off CPO can pay for a lot of unforseen issues as well. Just make sure the previous owner(s) have all the records and get a good inspection of the car. I'd buy a 60K mile Lexus over a Ford, Chevy, BMW, Mercedes, LandRover, etc, etc. any day.

exactly as said above. I have an 03 GX470 w/dvd ent. that i purchased used with 47K miles on it about 1 year ago. Before I bought, I checked all the car facts and services done. The clunk wasnt done but Lexus agreed to do it, it only had about 2 months left under warranty for that. They even did the transfer case oil fix too! I just took it for the 60K to Lexus last week and everything was looking great. I had them over inspect just to make sure, cause I went to Tahoe and put over 1000 miles on it in 3 days.
the history is the biggest concern, as im sure there is no more warranty for it.
