How do you remove the third brake light on GX470
I installed a rear spoiler on my GX470 and I have the third brake light cover. How do I install the cover? Do I remove the third brake light or do I put
the cover on top? Please help. Thank you in advance.

You will need to remove light first.
Gentley pry the top inner trim off. Look at your thrid brake light cover and see the tabs all around the outside edge, third brake light has the same. Get a medium flat screwdriver and reach in through the slits that you will see once trim is removed. The light is adhered with double stick tape also. It takes a little effort, but not alot. Then pull from outside sliding it sideways to clear the light connection. Clean the tape off the area around the hole, place new gasket on and snap cover in place.
Let me know if you run into any issue.

Cap,
I got mine off Ebay, painted and it came with cover. Maybe they will sell just the cover.

This was their reply:
"We can get one for you painted and shipped to you for $55."

Disconnecting the third brake doesn't cause any warning sign. I did the same thing to mine, but I have the cover on.
Cap,
If you still want the cover, I can get it for you 35 painted and shipped.

I am a little puzzled. Someone said that to insert the cover, one must remove the third light. But you say that you disconnected yours.
What I mean by disconnecting, I cut the wires going to the light.
Thanks for the offer of the cover. Lemme think about it, as I have mixed emotions.

Not trying to steal any thunder, but I too have been contemplating getting a rear spoiler.
Has anyone thought about this one: http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2771
