Congrats on the new 08'!!! I wound up ordering the rubber/plastic cap replacement for my 2" hitch because the original fell off! Please be careful with the cap after a few miles the "rubber/plastic" starts to lose it's grip and it easily falls out, or if you part it in a "public" lot, shopping center, supermarket, kids and vandals can easily "rip" it out...

It was cheap enough to replace about $20 ~ $25 USD via Sewell Lexus Service in Texas!!!

I think you're the only OTHER Lexus Gx470 owner I've seen with the plastic HITCH cap online or in real life!!! I guess others are taking it with them when they park their truck!!! LOL

Good Luck and enjoy!

Congrats.
I got the wifey an 08 a few months back w/factory DVD ent. system.
Let me know if you are able to view the NAv. through the Ent. system in the back......
I know if you're in park and engage the emergency brake you can view DVD's
in the front, but I can't get Nav. in the back.

In my 03 the NAV can be displayed at the back if we press the "MAP" button on the remote, does your remote have that option?

Something must have been defective with the rubber trailer hitch cap. I have had the same hitch and rubber cap on my current 07 GX as I had on my 05 and 06 GX.
I R&R the Lexus hitch when I changed vehicles. So the rubber cap has been on the hitch since June 95 and is still holding on tightly. I always leave the cap in place and only remove it while I wash the GX.

I bought a painted black metal cap from Kurts when I bought the hitch.

Hmmmm, interesting, I bought two rubber caps from Sewell, and both of them are just a loose...? Maybe my hitch is out of "spec" and is a bit larger than norm? My 2" bike rack and cargo carrier unit fits just fine though...

Thanks for the info Bob, as of right now, a bit of extra rubber and black electrician's tape is filling in nicely to build up the cap to fit snugly into the hitch for now...
