Replacing one tire?

Replacing one tire?
Hi! Is it possible to replace just one tire? Does the difference in circumference due to wear cause problems with the AWD system?
The three other tires have approximately 20,000 miles on them and the tread depth measures approximately 8-9/32nds of an inch. The other tire that I would be installing would be new (12/32nds).
Thanks!

Ebay possiblility
I have found that there has been quite a few, Dunlops and Michelins on Ebay with our size of 265 65 17's available. Quite often a single tire or a pair. At a very reasonable cost. They are used, but guaranteed and very low mileage. They would certainly be a closer match to your 20K mileage tires you have.
Another idea would be to buy 1 new tire, and use your full size new spare, and keep the pairs together. And put your 20K tire as your spare. This way you don't have different tires side to side. As that would be a little bit of a concern for tracking and grip.
Good luck.
Cheers

I've always made it a practice of mine to replace both front tires even if one has some decent tread left on it. I put that in the back as a spare. I let the rear tires wear a little longer until annual inspection recommends or forces replacement.
