Default GX sales are up! (sort of)

I noticed that the number of GX470s sold in April of '08 were actually higher then the number sold in April of '07 - an amazing feat IMO given the general down turn in SUV sales (e.g., 4Runner sales down by 41.6%). I can understand the huge surge in LX sales given it's a new generation, but I was very surprised to see GX sales are basically unchanged. Although I guess technically GX sales were down by 4.9% when factoring in the number of sale days? My theory is that when folks went to go see the newly redesigned LX some of them got sticker shock, and when they looked at the GX they realized what a great value it is in comparison.

Yeah, surprised me too. Also listed as one of the Top 10 off the lot in WSJ today (compiled from transaction data) - LX was #1

It was also recently rated as the top SUV in value retention (depreciation) as well. Nice choice everyone. The Enclave is sort of surprising given the recent thrashing on it's safety, but perhaps this data predates the testing.

PearlPower, Please elaborate on the safety issues re the Enclave. I've yet to drive one but I was under the impression it would be a good rental for my family and I when we travel.

Enclave/Outlook does fine in a crash test, can't find an offset crash

I will have to dig it up, very recent data, I believe on rollover, more so than most SUVs.
