Has anyone had any issues with their rear door of their GX470 not staying open? Everytime I am loading groceries I seem to get a slam in the back. Thoughts?

You need to lock it in place. After opening the door, there's a hinge on the bottom that you push in (i.e., towards the open door) to lock-in. To unlock, simply pull back in the opposite direction and then close door.

Be careful, that hinge is sharp and dirty. Another bad design by Lexus.

Agreed. It can be difficult to use. I try to keep it lubed to at least not make it too hard to use.

On my GX, I usually get away with just using the halfway indent where the door kind of catches a midway point and stays there by itself. Of course if its windy, or the vehicle is on an incline or I need the door wide open, I use the lever. Mine works very easily.

I cuss it out about every time... our old Land Rover had the same door setup, no problem whatsoever staying open without any stupid manual lever...
