Do you think/know if a 32" diameter tire will fit (with no rub, etc)?

Default Do you think/know if a 32" diameter tire will fit (with no rub, etc)?

Looking at a potential wheel upgrade using the TRD/Enkei 20" x 8" BFFT2 wheel offered on the 4runner. What I would like to do is go with a 275/55/20, rather than the typical 285/50/20, in order to get an off road capable tire. But the diameter is going to be about 31.9", and from my research that might put me beyond the size of any tire diameter I've found on CL or googling. What's the largest tire anyone is running on their GX right now?

Opinions / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

In terms of height I think it should be fine. 31.9" isn't much bigger than my 265/65-18's which are 31.56" tall and I've had no rubbing issues. But what I don't know for sure is how the extra width of a 285 tire will come into play. I think there are several folks on here running tires that are 285 wide if not wider, but I don't think they are running them at that height??

Hey Greg,

What I was looking at was a 275/55/20 setup that would make it the 31.9" diameter, but narrower than a 285. The wheels are 8" width so unless I've missed something the 275/55/20's should be an appropriate fit on a 20"x8" wheel.

BTW - I've decided from now on to only watch the 1st half of all remaining Auburn games

Default Go as wide as you like!

You can go as wide as you like, however you need to get the right offset and get some spacers. That way nothing will rub, and your gx will have a very agressive stance!

Thats a neat looking rim, have you considered enkie Deep 6!?

I have a 2005 4runner which is basically the same as the Gx470. I put in 265/70-17s. I have a 3 inch lift, but I get no rub. In theory you shouldnt rub by going to that size. On 3inchs of lift on a 4runner you can go as big as 285-75-17 with no body lift. Spacers are needed with stock rims...
