piggypiggy, i have an 02 GX 470 that i want to update the nav... so based on your post, i should be getting Generation 2/3 version 10.1. thanks for your input. i will double check and call Sewell to ask if they have this version.

Its now 2012 and want to know what i can do.
My version stinks. Im up here in canada and when it asks what area to look for and even though I punch in canada, a lot of times it searches for american.
My car is a 2004 US version (but again Im in canada) GS430. Where do I get my update?
And is there a step by step anywhere on here on how to do it? I dont want to screw up my navigation. Ive only had this car a few months now. I heard mention that the DVD is under the passenger seat so is all I do is pop that out and put in this new one?
And will this change the look? I would be thrilled if that was the case.

you sure you have the region selected correctly? there are a lot of different regions and you need to make sure you select where you are, otherwise when you search, it will search for streets in another region
for the gs430 it's very similar, the nav ecu is in the trunk, i believe on the right (passenger) side

Reading the same simple questions over and over in this thread is sad. Search first and then take the time to read your results... Seriously?
The overide trick to get boths screens to play a dvd and the breakdown on the software by make an model makes this thread useful. But 10 posts on asking how to insert a disc and wait? I stopped reading at the top of page 4 so please forgive me if someone elses useful tips are still burried under hand outs.

I searched up and down this entire thread and see nothing about how to upgrade the map for a 2008 LS460. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...
